How i wish…
Sunday, March 19th, 2006Day light saving is my new found love I must say, considering we get an extra hour of sleep before starting school at, no, not 7.30am (har har) but 8.30am. hmmm…
A brief view on Stephanie Ong’s daily life:
I check on my phone if it’s fully charged before chucking it into my school bag. I enter the school grounds with my hair untied, scanning the area for Edith and the rest. In the distance I spot Ying running from across the road towards me. It seems she’s accidently locked her school bag, folder, lunch, and of course, her car keys in her car. Very smart Ying, very smart. We eventually bump into Edith, who pushes me to a corner and covers me with her bag,” IT’S THE SHE-MAN STEPH! SHE’S LOOKING AGAIN! DON’T WORRY, I’LL PROTECT YOU!”
We enter our own classes respectfully late, the teacher questions. Excuse: I locked my car keys in, miss. I’m terribly sorry. She accepts. Sucker.
After a period of Form Four (Malaysian standard, please) Biology (yeah, you heard me, form four) and an incredibly torturing hour of Economics, we have recess. Lisa brings up the unfinished debate of what to get for Grace’s birthday. A wide yet, unusual choice consisting of flavoured condoms, a moaning finger, anti-masturbating gum, a 70 dollar voucher for Route 66 etc. The bell rings, off to PE for Ying and I.
An hour later, PE’s over. We’ve just eaten during recess, but hey, there’s always room for an hour long lunch break. Grace volunteers to buy the dollar each BBQ sausages the prefects were preparing at a charity event outside the school hall. Ying announces she’s got her keys back. Her dad drove all the way from work to drop off the spare one. While eating, Edith suddenly shoots up and starts yelling at some girls who just walked pass us. Yoou shouts “BITCH FIGHT!” We catch up with Edith, just to find that those girls weren’t mocking us, but simply pointing out to Cara, who apparently was her friend. Shame. We eventually decide to get Grace the flavoured condoms, the moaning finger, the anti-masturbating gum, the 70 dollar voucher for Route 66 and a deluxe vanilla chocolate mousse cake.
School’s over. We decide to have a picnic at Domain Park smack in the city. Lisa and I, craving for sushi, walk down to New Market for some takeaways before bussing to the city; whilst Ying drove the rest to the city for some fast food. We meet at the park where we were shortly harassed by a flock of geese closely eying our food. Linda joins us not long after, her 25 year old boyfriend drops her off in his rad Rav4 Toyota. After our usual routine of camera-whore-ing, we head home.
I get my assignments done, check my mail at a friends house, and have dinner. I lie on my bed as I run through the pictures taken earlier on my camera. I tell myself, how I wish they were them back in Malaysia.
